Phone Tracking App FAQs
The GPS location sharing app works by allowing users to create a “circle” of family and friends. This circle can include anyone in your life that you want to stay connected to – whether that’s your spouse, your kids, or your parents.
Life360 does offer free phone tracking with the basic membership. This basic plan is limiting, however, compared to the benefits and features offered in the Gold and Platinum plans, such as free towing, stolen phone protection, stolen ID funds reimbursement, and more.
Since Life360 is an app, the location-sharing service is also disconnected when a phone is turned off. Life360 can’t see the phone’s location mainly because once the mobile device is shut off, so is its GPS functionality. However, Life360 does have the ability to provide the location history of the device for 30 days.
The GPS feature of your phone does not operate off of cellular service, so your device will send out signals in case of an emergency while in airplane mode. However, any apps you download, such as Life360, often only work if there is a connection.
