Grab up your swords and armour, it’s time for some good old fashioned medieval fun with this weeks XBLA release of the popular European board game “Carcassonne”.For those not familiar with the game, you start off with a blank square of land, and then 1-4 players take turns picking from tiles that display roads, castle walls or fields. As you place the tiles around things start developing around you, such as towns and roads, with the aim being to accumulate the most points. It’s a very strategic game, making you think about what tiles to take and place where to get the biggest score possible out of it.

The AI in the game is said to have a good range of levels to it, so even someone who has read what I just wrote and thought “What the?” can jump in and have a go at this one. Plus the tutorial in the game should help you master the tactics in no time. The game supports multiplayer over Xbox Live and also supports the Xbox Live Vision camera.

The game is available on the Marketplace now for 800 MS points (Not available in South Korea) and the download is around 46MB.
