There has been a lot of “buzz” since the official site for CoD 4 has been down in “Maintenance Mode,” with the CoD 4’s soon beta release date, many speculations have appeared stating that the Beta will be up on Xbox Marketplace tonight. There has also been a slip-up on the Xbox marketplace ticker, which showed that the CoD 4 beta was available at that time as a free download:

“Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Beta (Free) - 8/17
This beta is a just a taste of the full Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer experience and features just a few early versions of the maps and modes in the game.”

This made the Xbox community eager to get their hands on the CoD 4 beta, unfortunately the “slip-up” has been removed and the “Maintenance Mode” on the official site is said to be just an upgrade which will possibly include a countdown timer for the CoD 4 beta.  Predictions show that the most possible release of the beta will be between August 20th and August 24th.
