A few members of the Live-360 crew were playing some Call of Duty 4 earlier today testing out all the new patches features. Everything was looking good (especially the new kill cams, they kick ass) then the game suddenly ended and said “The host has ended the game.” That was not the last time we saw this message, the second time seen we knew something was not right. Not really complaining here but this was pretty much the main feature in the patch and the feature that was going to quit all the complaining about games suddenly ending because of the host leaving.
Heres what host migration was supposed to do:
Host migration was added, so now when the host leaves you won’t get dropped back to your own lobby by yourself. Everyone will stay together. Host Leaves, everyone returns to lobby, selects next best host, and the game starts up again. No more re-inviting, re-partying up because a host ended the game.
Damn that’s a failure.

I don’t know if it is just us or what, but we have had a harder time trying to find people since the patch. Sometimes we will wait in a lobby of HQ for 5 or 10 min and maybe 1 or 2 peeps will jump in. Then they usually leave b/c its taking too long. Anyone else having this difficulty?

Erm… that patch does exactly what it is supposed to do…. if the host leaves, it returns everyone to the Lobby, picks a new host from those in that Lobby and returns then starts a map up! What it DOESNT now do which it used to do was when the host left, it would not only drop everyone out the game but send you back to the Main Menu and expect you to search for a match again, losing all the people you were previously playing with!
Before: Host dropped out>you got dumped to Main Menu>you have to search for a new game and 11 other new people…Now: Host drops out>you and 11 other people move back to the pre-game lobby where a new map is selected and loads for ALL of you to play again together.

I was a bit dissapointed. The main gripe I have is when a host would leave you would start a new string of maps. So you would end up often doing the same few maps over and over, you could play for ever and never get the maps you like because the rooms would not stay open long enough to give you a full cycle of maps. I got the impression this would be fixed with the host migration, keeping the same room open just switching hosts so the map string would continue in its order. But it is just like it was before only you dont actualy have to hit find match. and keeping you with the same people I dont care about that. I dont get too emotionaly attached to anyone in a pickup game after a few rounds to be sad if I have to play with some new people. and a play list puts you back with your friends anyway. It is good only in that it saves a few seconds so you dont have to hit find match your self but thats about it. If they could at least fix it so when you guys start over it would put you in next map from the one you were on that would be cool. I just hate repeating maps so often. And the fun maps being so hard to get into.

Also they said they fixed the problem with the sniper where you would get a bead on a guy, pull the trigger and it would not register a hit. well that has obviously not been fixed because I notice it more now than ever. I get a bead on a guy, dead center of his face, he is just sitting there crouched, I got breath hold on so cross hairs are steady, fire my shot and nothing, no hit, fire off 2 more and nothing, a fourth shot same as others and Ding head shot. I notice this alot now and not so much befor the patch. also more lagg in games now, alot of people notice this, the only positive I see are the cool kill cams.

come on how hard can it be to make a patch that elimnates problems?? there is still problems with lag aswell. the game just got a bit more weird after this new patch. it was bad before but now its just horrible.
