A European company specializing in hardware repair and troubleshooting has stopped repairing Xbox 360’s because of the difficulty involved.
”We were getting a phenomenal amount of these things coming through,” a company representative stated in an interview with Next-Gen.biz. “We were seeing about 30 a week coming in with the same problem which we identified as a fundamental motherboard fault.”
According to Micromart’s analysis, dry joints may be at fault for the machine’s tendency to overheat. The company’s attempts to repair the problem involved the introduction of flux, a substance that acts as a wetting agent and also changes its physical properties at higher temperatures. However, their attempts ended up being either unsuccessful or unsatisfactory.
“We decided it wasn’t in anybody’s best interests to continue the sham that this fault is easily repaired, the representative later added.
“It is our belief that the only sensible way to repair it is to replace the motherboard with a new one without the inherent problems.”
Micromart claims that it has made attempts to contact Microsoft to receive “support, information, and availability of replacement motherboards”, but no reply was sent.

Nah, it’s just the vocal minority of motherboards have problems.
