How David Used Life360 to Rescue His Injured Son
David and his wife wanted to take their kids on one last summer adventure before the new school year began. They woke the family up early in the morning, packed the car, and drove three hours north to a town with a popular ATV park. David and his wife had grown up ATVing and it had become a fun family sport they enjoyed with their two sons over the years. This particular ATV park was one of the family’s favorites – it was and old rock quarry that was more than 1,000 acres of forested areas and large sand dunes.
After riding for half the day, David stopped to help his youngest son with his dirt bike. During that time, his eldest son decided to take a solo ride and ended up getting lost.
“After 30 minutes passed and he didn’t return, we started to worry,” said David. “We checked Life360 and saw that he wasn’t moving and we became extremely concerned.”
Life360 had pinpointed his son’s location in a large green area on the map and David knew he was somewhere in the forest. Jumping back on his ATV, David headed towards his son using Life360’s map to guide him. After riding for two miles and passing multiple rivers and steep valleys, he finally reached him. His son’s ATV was crashed into a tree and his son had been launched into a nearby riveen.
“He was disoriented from the crash and his knee was dislocated, so he couldn’t walk. If it wasn’t for the app, we would have had to hire a search party and comb through 1,000 acres.”
David downloaded Life360 two years ago after his brother mentioned it to him. Since they live in a rural area, his kids often arrive home before his wife or himself make the long drive back from work, and Life360’s place notifications gives him comfort knowing they are arriving to their destinations safely.
Thank you to David and his family for sharing their story!
