How Jay Used Life360 to Locate His Lost Phone
Jay started his weekend afternoon at a local golf course to spend time with his friends and relax from the work week. Upon finishing the round and heading back to their cars, Jay realized that he no longer had his cellphone with him. He and friends back tracked all 18 holes with no luck in finding the device. Because they had spent the majority of their day on the large golf course, the cell phone could have landed anywhere, and Jay was convinced it was lost for good.
“It was a hot summer day outside, and I knew my phone had overheated from the sun because when my friends tried to call it, it went straight to voicemail,” said Jay. “The odds seemed to be against me and I was certain a lawnmower would get to my phone before I did.”
However, his friend remembered Jay and his family used Life360 and could locate each other on the app’s virtual map in real time. Jay called his wife to explain the issue and she took a screenshot of his pinged location from the Life360 app.
They were able to locate his phone within 5 minutes by using only the features shown from the app. The phone was safely sitting in the grass just 15 yards away from the 17th hole. Jay was thrilled at how accurate Life360 was and that he wouldn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to replace his phone.
Jay and his family of five originally downloaded Life360 to help manage their three daughters hectic school schedules.
“It’s nice to know my family is arriving from point A to point B safely, too many things can happen in between.”
In fact, just days before the golfing incident, Jay and his wife used Life360 for a teaching moment with their youngest daughter. When his daughter took a ride from a friend’s older sibling, Jay was relieved to be notified when she arrived at her destination safely through Life360. However, the app also notified him of the speed the car was going to get there. He was shocked to see the driver was going 95 miles per hour with his daughter as a passenger.
“I immediately called my daughter and I could tell she was shaken up. She said she was scared to speak up that she was uncomfortable in the car,” said Jay. “From there, we were able to provide guidance on how she should handle those situations. It was a great learning lesson for all of us.”
We’re grateful we could help Jay recover his cellphone and protect his family. Thanks for letting us share your story!
